Fun Finds #3

Here are some fun finds I've stumbled across this week, I really enjoy doing these fun finds posts as they're really light hearted and I always succumb to buying things like these as they're just cute and make you smile, although this edition is not as wacky as the ones I've previously done!
I absolutely love the pineapple crop and zesty skirt; Motel prints never fail to entice! These posts always seem to veer down a fruity route, especially in summer but who doesn't love a brightly coloured fruit print!
Hope you like this post and are enjoying summer!

End of First Year Summer Ball

I finished my first year of university last month, studying Fashion and Textile Retailing at Manchester. I can safely say it's been the best year of my life, and not just the social aspect the course too! If you're um'ing and ah'ing about whether to take textiles or art into further education because it's 'not academic' I strongly suggest you go for it, you can't go through life doing something you don't enjoy!
Anyway to celebrate the end of first year we had a summer ball for our halls which was ace, I wore a gorgeous printed skater dress from Topshop in mint green (which is my new fave colour!). I accessorised with plain black wedges, a cream snakeskin clutch with studs and classic jewellery.

Dress - Topshop £35
Earrings and Bracelet - Miss Selfridge (old)
Black Wedges - Dunnes (old)
Watch - Red Herring (old)

As you can tell buying new clothes and accessories is a rarity as a student as this just can't be factored into the student budget! Hence the only new item I could afford was the dress, but it just goes to show that new shoes, jewellery etc aren't necessarily a must for every occasion!
I didn't want to overdo it with the make-up, I used No.7 Mulberry Moisture Drench Lipstick with Eyelure Naturalties Full Look Lashes, matching green nail polish and did a subtle smokey eye look.

Parklife Festival Pick

So I only just got my photos developed from Parklife festival last weekend at Manchester. The sun definitely had its hat on for the duration which was a bonus to the ace music line-up, company and atmosphere!
I did notice that a lot of effort had gone into the set at Parklife, it was so scenic! Ferris wheel, giant bluebells, massive coloured flags, it was perfect! Wish this could be relived every weekend, was over too fast!
Here is my favourite festival pick that I wore.

Hearts & Bows Semi-See Through Paisley Print Top £12.99
eBay Tortoishell Sunglasses (old)
Vintage Belt
Primark Rucksack £9
Topshop Denim Shorts £34
New Look Leopard Print Flatforms £12.99

Good sunglasses are such an essential for festivals (although are extremely susceptible to being broken, at Reading last year I managed to break THREE pairs!) This tortoiseshell style has served me well. I opted for a sensible footwear option with the comfy flatforms, I would have loved to have wellied-it but I didn't think it acceptable in sunny weather and would've looked a bit of a twat.

Wish I could afford to go to another festival this year but student life has bled me dry of money.
