Future Eyes Glasses

About a month ago I was contacted by a company called 'Future Eyes' who make Kaleidoscope glasses which give you a 'crystal vision'. Remember having a kaleidoscope as a young'un and just turning it until your hearts content? Future eyes have captured this youthful creativity into an everyday vision so you can see the world through a different light and step out from the confines of an ordinary kaleidoscope; enabling your imagination to run riot.

The company is based in LA (hence why they took a few weeks to arrive), the glasses are handmade and were designed by artist Brent Pearson who explores the art of invention. The thinking and concept behind the glasses I find really interesting which you can read about in the about section of their website. This particular extract caught my attention;
"The word "kaleidoscope" is a very wonderful word. Kaleidoscope comes from the Ancient Greek words Kalos, Eidos, and Skopeo - Beauty, Shape, and to Look. In other words it means to see the beauty of life. Optical aerobics is an idea I am developing to allow for the advancement of human perception by conscious sensory exploration."

Future eyes also have rainbow kaleidoscope glasses and kaleidoscope necklaces which are equally as innovative. I absolutely love the glasses and the artistic scope they posses! I've spent way too much time playing around with them today when I should be packing to return to university but I'm really chuffed with some of the photos I've captured.
Recently Lady Gaga has been spotted with a pair of kaleidoscope glasses which Jack from 'Just Having a Giraffe' made a great blog post about which you can have a read of here! He was also gifted a pair of future eyes and wrote a great review! Lots of musicians have explored Future Eyes' crystal vision including; The Kills, Miike Snow, Skrillex and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros all of which I am big fans of and also the likes of Russel Brand.
I don't think I would would wear these non-stop as I'd probably end up with even worse eyesight than I already have but they're so quirky, cool and propose an alternative vision/perspective for the future.

  2. Don't you get dizzy from wearing those glasses? On the other hand, they actually look quite cool and your pictures of the 'crystal vision' are very nostalgic :)
