Halloween Over-KILL

So after last year's poor effort of not even going out or dressing up for Halloween due to being at home and simply inexcusable bad organisation on mine and my friend's part, we managed to celebrate Halloween three times this year! Well, I loosely use the term 'celebrate' because the origins of Halloween but who doesn't love a good fancy dress? It actually feels like we've dressed up more to go out than we have normal clothes, but I'm not complaining! Most students seem to shy away from fancy because it's usually expensive to do well but I hope to show you that you don't need to splash the cash to do a half decent job of dressing up!

Our first dress up was for a friend's party and most of our outfits were improvised and put together that day (being scrimping students and all). I had an essay deadline for the next day so I wasn't planning on going but my course friend persuaded me that day and whilst we were in town she said she'd seen a pop art tutorial on YouTube so I bought some yellow hair spray for only £2 and poundland face paint as that's all I needed to create the eye-catching look.
After being happy with and finishing my essay at around 8pm, I set to work on the make-up which I thought would be really difficult but it wasn't it just took SO long to do but it was worth it, I was really chuffed with how it turned out! I already had bright eye shadow and liquid eyeliner which is needed for the look, I've posted the YouTube link below so you can see the tutorial but I'm sure you may have seen this pop art fancy dress before. I simply wore black and white clothing to complete the Lichenstein inspired style who I love and have blogged about before.

Next, for actual Halloween, we had actually planned doing spice girls for a while and were so excited about it. Beings as there are 5 girls in our house it was inevitable! I drew a relatively short straw in being sporty spice just by default based on our looks but again I only spent £6 for this fancy dress! The top I bought from Primark for six pounds which is a typical 90s high-neck sparkly crop top that I paired with Mel C's classic tracksuit bottoms and trainers (was bliss wearing such comfy shoes on a night out!)
I already had some fake blood which went round everyone and there's still some left over, I painted tattoos on with left over face-paint and voila. We had to make our make up zombie-fied just to add a scary Halloween edge. We got a fair bit of attention when we were out because who doesn't love the Spice Girls? The DJ played a few spice girls classics and requested we were on stage on our own for one song haha it's definitely been the best Halloween ever.

Lastly we were invited to another house party but only three of us girls went so we did a quick 3 blind mice dress up which we spent no money on! Using left over face paint, paper ears, a lipstick nose and sunglasses we made our outfits! I admit this is the least impressive fancy dress but I thought I'd add it to this post too.

It seems like I've been living the life of Riley recently but I have been working hard recently I promise! Second year is tough and the deadlines are getting more and more painful in addition to working as well, you need to let your hair down on a regular basis! Hope everyone had a wicked Halloween!
